Resource Learning Communities (RLC) believes that learning is an essential life process, and that all genders, races and ages must have access to a personalized educational or career pathway in order to fully thrive as human beings. We stand committed to challenging, empowering, and mentoring Central Indiana residents who live in high-crime, high-poverty apartment communities as they create and achieve a formal or informal learning pathway. Licensed teachers assist residents as they create and achieve incremental educational or career goals given access to tuition-free diploma-recovery and career-education options. Once resident pathways have been established, we resolve to place licensed teachers and mobile office technology in apartment clubhouses or other common areas, once a week, to provide our learning community members consistent access to life-changing resources. RLC partners with local programs such as The EXCEL Center, Job Source, and Ivy-Tech to eliminate three common barriers to education: transportation, technology, and marginalized income.
